It is imperative that South Africa develops and nurtures initiatives that will both enhance commercialisation and technology diffusion. Business incubation can play a key role in this instance to assist in leveraging ICTs to encourage innovation in entrepreneurs and SMMEs.
The SAFIPA Programme supports some initiatives that are involved in the incubation of SMMEs and the development of market-ready applications that will be scaled up for commercialisation.
